As President Trump touched down in Beijing on Wednesday, accompanied by a who's who of corporate America, including Tim Cook and Elon Musk, late night hosts were quick to respond with a healthy dose of skepticism and sarcasm. The President's trip, which has been billed as a 'fact-finding mission' to promote American business interests in China, has been met with widespread criticism for its perceived lack of substance and its emphasis on photo ops and deal-making.

Stephen Colbert, host of CBS's The Late Show, was the first to take aim at Trump's trip, dubbing it 'Trump's Fabulous Billionaire Boys Trip' in a scathing monologue that left little to the imagination. 'It's like a bunch of rich guys on a boys' trip, but instead of a hotel room, they're staying in a palace,' Colbert quipped, before going on to mock the President's claims of promoting American business interests in China.

Colbert was not alone in his criticism, however. NBC's The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon also weighed in on the trip, joking that Trump's entourage looked like 'a bunch of guys who just got kicked out of a golf course.' Meanwhile, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! host Jimmy Kimmel took aim at Trump's claims of being a 'great deal-maker,' quipping that the President's biggest deal was probably 'getting a good price on a pair of Ivanka Trump shoes.'

As the late night hosts continued to pile on, it became clear that Trump's trip was not going to be the 'great success' that the President had promised. Instead, it seemed to be a prime example of the 'Fabulous Billionaire Boys' Club' that Colbert had joked about, with Trump and his corporate friends schmoozing and deal-making while the rest of the world looked on in dismay.

Despite the criticism, however, Trump's trip to China is likely to continue to be a major focus of attention in the coming days and weeks. As the President and his entourage continue to promote American business interests in China, it will be interesting to see how the late night hosts continue to respond.
